If you have seen a More Amoure piece, you have seen the Ma. mark. Two letters, sharp angles and a full stop. It is on caps, jackets, tags and the back of our track jackets. Here is why it looks the way it does.
Why Ma.
Our full name is More Amoure, and Ma. is the short form. It is quick to say, easy to stitch and works on small spaces like a cap or a zip pull.
The word also has a lot of weight. In many languages, Ma is a word for mother. That fits a brand that started with a grandmother who gave bread away and taught us what generosity looks like.
Why blackletter
Blackletter is an old style of lettering with strong lines and sharp angles. It has history, in manuscripts, newspaper mastheads and, more recently, streetwear. We liked how it feels. It looks serious without being cold.
Ours is not a traditional blackletter. It is cut into clean, angular shapes, so it looks modern and graphic. The straight edges make it work well in embroidery and print.
The full stop
The dot at the end is deliberate. It is a point where you stop and arrive. It also makes the mark feel finished, like a statement.
Where you see it
- Small and quiet on the chest of our black zip jackets
- Large on the back
- On caps
- Embossed or tone on tone, almost hidden until you look closely
We like it when the mark is quiet. The idea is that the person wearing it matters more than the logo.
Keeping it simple
We try not to overdo it. A strong mark, used sparingly, says more than a logo on every inch of a piece.
Next to the clover
The four-heart clover, our version of Nyame Dua, sits alongside the wordmark. One is our name, the other is our meaning.
